Norwegian HEL-NCE

   Norwegian (DY), Scandinavia's largest low-cost airline, has recently announced a new aircraft base at Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL), the Finnish capital's airport. Although Norwegian has only been operating to Helsinki in the past year, from next spring two Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 189 seats will be based at Helsinki, enabling the airline to open 11 new routes from the airport, of which one is to France: Nice-Côte d'Azur (NCE) will receive two flights per week starting on 13 April 2011. The low frequency and seasonality of the route means that it is most likely to attract tourists from Finland wishing to visit France's balmy Mediterranean coast.

   From the offset, Norwegian will face a competitor on the route: Blue1 (KF), a member of the SAS airline group, will be operating 2 weekly flights with its Boeing 717 aircraft configured with 120 seats.

 
   Norwegian (DY), la compagnie "low-cost" la plus grande de la Scandinavie, a récemment annoncé une nouvelle base à Helsinki (HEL), la capitale de la Finlande. Norwegian a desservi Helsinki depuis moins d'un an, mais dès printemps 2011 la compagnie norvégienne basera deux appareils Boeing 737-800 à Helsinki, ce qui permettra à la compagnie d'inaugurer 11 nouvelles destinations, dont une en France : l'aéroport Nice-Côte d'Azur (NCE) recevra deux vols hebdomadaires dès le 13 avril prochain. La baisse fréquence et le fait que la compagnie ne reliera ces deux destinations que pendant l'été indique que la liaison est attirera surtout les touristes scandinaves souhaitant visiter la côte méditerranéenne française.
