Flybe MAN-NTE

   In an interesting move, Flybe (BE), a British low-cost airline that is also Europe’s biggest regional carrier, today announced a new connection between Manchester (MAN) in northwest England and Nantes (NTE), France’s sixth city, situated near the mouth of the Loire River on the Atlantic coast.

   This new route will be operated four times weekly from the 7^th of Dec, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with Flybe’s 78-seater Dash-8 Q400 turboprop aircraft, and will be operated year-round. This follows the introduction of Flybe’s London Gatwick (LGW) to Nantes earlier this year. The schedules are as follows:

Tue, Thu, Fri:  BE1445 Manchester 09.50-12.30 Nantes

                           BE1446 Nantes 12.55-13.35 Manchester

Sun:   BE1445 Manchester 14.30-17.10 Nantes

           BE1446 Nantes 17.35-15.15 Manchester

   Interestingly, this Summer Flybe operated a route between Manchester and Rennes (RNS), located about 100km (63mi) from Nantes, although this route has already finished its summer run and will not return this winter. It is quite likely that due to the Nantes route being introduced, this will replace a service to Rennes.

   Apar t from this route, the only other similar one is (as very often seems to be the case) with Ryanair, who operate to Leeds/Bradford from Nantes with 189 seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft, but only twice weekly and only during the Summer.

 

   Dans une décision intéressante, la compagnie à bas coûts britannique Flybe (BE, qui est par ailleurs la plus grande compagnie régionale d’Europe, a annoncé une nouvelle liaison entre Manchester (MAN) dans le nord-ouest de l’Angleterre et Nantes (NTE), la sixième ville de France, près des bouches de la Loire sur la côte Atlantique.

   Cette nouvelle route sera effectuée quatre fois par semaine dès le 7 déc, les mardis, jeudis, vendredis et dimanches avec des appareils Dash-8 Q400 de 78 places, et ne sera pas saisonnier. La liaison suit l’introduction avec succés d’un vol Flybe depuis Londres Gatwick (LGW) vers Nantes il y a quelques mois. Voici les horaires :

Il est intéressant de remarquer que Flybe a opéré cet été une liaison entre Manchester et Rennes (RNS), une ville située 100km au nord de Rennes (RNS), cette liaison étant, elle, seulement planifiée pour l’été et qui ne sera pas desservie cet hiver. Il est probable que suite à l’introduction du vol vers Nantes, celui vers Rennes ne réapparaîtra pas l’été prochain.

   A part cette route, la seule autre liaison similaire est celle de Ryanair (FR) (et oui, encore Ryanair) entre Leeds/Bradford (LBA) et Nantes, opéré deux fois par semaine pendant l’ été seulement.
